TWO-PHASE DYNAMIC FACILITY LAYOUT METHOD USING ESs

چکیده

A lot of Metaheuristics for solving dynamic combinatorial facility layout problems have been developed, but still require much computation time when the number of facilities or planning horizon is large. Dynamic facility layout should meet a dynamic change in both product mix and demand quantity of each product over a planning horizon by adjusting facility layout effectively under a given system capability. This paper improves the performance in the previous dynamic layout method based on Evolution Strategies (ES), by elaborating a technique for adjusting weights on a penalty term corresponding to overlapped area of any two facilities in the fitness function and by incorporating a recombination mechanism in addition to the usual mutation procedure in ES. Some numerical experiments make clear that the improvement rate by the proposed method is very high.
